Isn’t it awesome to know that when things get tough, or really good, or just confusing, that God is there ready to talk to us?
I love the song “Sit With You Awhile” by Mercy Me. It is so much about needing that time to stop, refocus, pray, just be relaxed and refilled by His presence. Nights like last night at church are great moments like that for me. Most of the time when we are worshiping through music at church, I am leading. It was great for me to be able to just be a participant and not the leader. Sometimes that is a welcome time. Just to relax in the giftedness of others and their praise for our Father.
Don’t get me wrong. There’s nothing better than leading a willing group of God’s people in worship of and praise to Him!
How about you? Do you need those moments to just chill in His presence? Some people stay home from church when they get run down. That is a misplaced sense of focus…Church isn’t a job or a duty…It is worship! Let’s not place our focus in the wrong place…

It’s like I was telling you this morning…How awesome it is that God loves us! He doesn’t have to – and we sure don’t deserve it nor are we worthy of it. But still He loves us – just as we are. He loves us enough to always be there right beside us in whatever we are facing – whether we notice Him or not. He just waits for us to turn to Him – for us to sit back and just relax in His presence. What an incredible encouragement! My favorite part of our evening of praise and worship of Him through song was how it overflowed into today and was a source of encouragement throughout the day.

That song has been in my head all day. Reminds me of when my Memaw used to ask me to just sit with her a while…no talking necessary. Love makes it possible to just sit…be still…and rest assured. I’m so thankful to have God willing to wait for me to sit!

The last few weeks I have been so busy with checking off my to do list, that I haven’t just sat and talked and listened to Him. Sure I have been praying, but not completley focused on Him. I am ashamed that my prayers have become another thing to check off my list. This weekend was wonderful for me. And I was reminded after yesterday and last night how much I need to sit and foucus on Him completely. Because if I am not focused on Him I lose sight of why I am checking things off my list. It’s all for HIM.
