I thought I might take today to honor many of my friends. I have so many that fit the description I am about to lay out…
- Worthy of my trust
- Trust me in return
- Have a love for my family
- Allow my family and I to be part of their lives
- Willing to be honest
- Protective of my feelings
- Take up the slack of my shortcomings, but challenge for improvement
- Sacrifice for others
- Challenge my decisions
- Celebrate great occurances together
- Proud for accomplishments and victories
- Helps shoulder the burden of others’ problems
- Willing to overlook bad days
- Sees the heart behind comments or actions
- Offers forgiveness with accountability
- KNOWS that different areas of life sometimes takes away friend moments
There are so many other words or phrases that describe my friends and their incredible qualities. I want to say thank you for loving my family and I. You are special.
We have lived so many places and made so many great friends. Being apart and sometimes out of touch doesn’t lessen the connection and love we have for you all!
I pray that I have been these a friend with these qualities and more for each of you. Thank you for sharing life with me!
Paul wrote in Philippians 2:19-23, about sending Timothy to the church at Philippi. He stated that he had no one else of a kindred spirit that was worthy of their trust that he could send to them.
I pray that someone today could speak of you in this way. That you are truly a kindred spirit to them and proven trustworthy! May God remind us that relationships are based on love and service to each other!
I love you, my friends! God bless you today!

I am thankful for the wonderful family of friends that surround me. I, like Jordan and Susan, have made more meaningful, deep, true friendships in the past 2 1/2 years that I’ve been in Weaver than I’ve ever had before. These friendships are so close that they are my family. When I moved here I wasn’t sure how I’d make it so far away from all of my familalana all of the people that i grew up around. But God has surely taken care of me and placed me in the closest friendships that I ever could have imagined.
And Scott…I can guarantee that in our friendship, you possess ALL of these qualities and more. I couldn’t ask for a better friend.

I too am very thankful for all of my friends. Josh and I struggled for a few years trying to find “adult” friends. We are blessed to have found so many true friends through our church. In the last year we have lost several loved ones and knowing that we had our friends there to pray, love, cook, visit and support us meant so much. I hope that you know we love you very much and all the kids that come with you. With that being said…when is the 80’s party? We need a night of laughter!

Susan and I thank God constantly that He put us at First Baptist Weaver where we have made more true friends in nearly five years than we have in our whole lives. We are blessed to be surrounded by people who love us even when we aren’t at our best…
“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, ‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one”
C.S. Lewis
“A true friend knows your weaknesses but shows you your strengths; feels your fears but fortifies your faith; sees your anxieties but frees your spirit; recognizes your disabilities but emphasizes your possibilities.”
William Arthur Ward
“It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
